spurdo! Library License
Last updated: October 21, 2026
Version 2026-10-21. This license covers every library published to the spurdo! package registry (npm.spurdoverse.app) with spd publish. Libraries have no license of their own on spurdo!: this one applies to all of them, and its package files say "license": "SEE LICENSE IN https://spurdoverse.app/legal/library-license". You accept it before your first library goes up; when its text changes, spd asks you to accept the new version before your next library.
1. Who is who
- "You", "the author" — the account that publishes the library, and the person or people behind it.
- "spurdo!" — the operator of spurdoverse.app and its services (see the Terms of Service).
- "User" — anyone with a spurdo! account, including other authors.
- "The spurdo! ecosystem" — spurdoverse.app, the spurdo! marketplace and registry, the spurdo! software (the loader, the cheat and its script runtime) and the scripts that run in it.
- "Published version" — a version of the library the registry has shown at least once.
2. What you allow
For every version you publish, you give spurdo! and every user a free, non-exclusive, worldwide right to:
- use the library;
- copy it, including installing it from the registry and keeping copies in their projects;
- bundle it into their own scripts, change it as part of that, and distribute those scripts — paid scripts included — within the spurdo! ecosystem.
spurdo! may also store, build, check, moderate, show to moderators and serve the library, and include it in the bundles of the scripts that use it, because that is how the registry and the marketplace work.
You don't get paid for this, by spurdo! or by the authors who use your library, unless you agree on something separately.
3. It can't be taken back for published versions
Once a version is published, these rights for that version are irrevocable. You can stop publishing new versions, yank a version (spd yank) or ask for the library to be removed, but:
- scripts that already bundled a version keep the right to use and distribute it inside their bundles, including new versions of those scripts built from the same lock file;
- users who already have those scripts keep using them.
A yanked or removed version is no longer offered for new installs. Moderation may still remove a version that breaks the rules; that is a decision of spurdo!, not a withdrawal of the license.
4. What stays yours
You keep the copyright and every other right in your code. This license is not a transfer of ownership: it is permission to use the code in the ways above. Your name (or nick) stays on the library's page.
5. What you promise
By publishing, you confirm that:
- you wrote the code, or otherwise have the right to publish it under this license;
- any third-party code inside the library (copied files, vendored packages, assets) comes under a license that allows it to be distributed this way, and you keep those licenses' notices in the files where they require it;
- the library contains nothing that breaks the Terms of Service or the marketplace rules.
If someone claims that the library infringes their rights, spurdo! may take it down. You are responsible for claims that come from what you published.
6. Only inside the ecosystem
This license gives no rights outside the spurdo! ecosystem. It doesn't allow anyone to publish your library on other registries, sell it on other sites or use it in software unrelated to spurdo!. If you want to allow that, publish the code elsewhere under a license of your choice as well — this license doesn't stop you.
7. No warranty
The library is provided as it is. Neither you nor spurdo! promises that it works or fits a purpose, and neither is liable to the users of the library for damage from using it, as far as the law allows.
8. Changes
spurdo! may publish a new version of this license. A new version applies to versions of a library published after the author accepts it; versions published before stay under the version that was in force when they were published.
